April 18th Dance Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out to the April SOS Kick-Off Shag dance!  

A special thank you and welcome to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to friends of the club who continue to support our dances - we appreciate you all joining us!

There was a wonderful turnout of about 70 people with tables overflowing with delicious snacks. Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen gave a FREE 'Basic' lesson from 6:30 to 7:00pm and we appreciate them donating their time and talent to the club!  Thanks to Roy and Thelma Herring who greeted people at the door.

Dancing began at 7:00m and Tootie Brown got us out on the floor in full force with fantastic beach music.  Mike and Julie Rogers showed off their winning shag contest routine and we all enjoyed a dance mixer that had the entire room out on the floor.  We had one lucky 50-50 winner. 

President Mike Rogers updated us with club and event information.  Announcements were made regarding the April SOS events, SOS parade (April 25th) and to keep everyone involved in club events and participation (Wiggle Giggle, Golf Tournament, Greeters, etc).  He announced that we have an open board member position - what an opportunity!  If you're interested, let one of the current board members know.

The SOS Spring Safari began the same night as our dance and we were thrilled to have shaggers from the S.O.B.S., Northern Virginia Shag Club, and South Strand with us to shag. 

Our May DJ will be Claude "CC" Collins!  Calling all Shaggers... it's going to be a great night, with great weather with spring in full bloom.  Don't miss it - we'll see you there!!!
