August 15th Dance Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out to the August Cool & Breezy shag dance!  

A special thanks to those shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to those who joined the Coastal Shag Club.  We're so close to meeting our goal of 100 members and it's all thanks to you all spreading the word and being the most fun group of shaggers around. 

It was a hot night out but the Moose a/c was working keeping us cool. We had a terrific turnout of about 65 people with plenty of tasty treats to share.  We welcomed guests from as far away as Gastonia and had a great time shagging.

Dancing began at 7:00pm and DJ Rodney Axam spun the hits and also sang us many songs!  During the dance we were reminded discounted SOS cards are still available through the club - just let Gary Sellers know.  We had one lucky 50-50 winner, one Chili's gift certificate winner, and one name badge winner.   

We have a lot of fun exciting things going on this fall - so get involved and mark your calendars.  First up, is of course the SOS Fall Migration which will be a LOT of fun.  October 3rd is the date of our first annual golf tournament.  See John Evans if you would like to play, or if you can help with the organization, or would like to sponsor a hole.  October 10th is the date of our second annual yard sale in Shallotte.  Marc Meyers is organizing the event and it's better than ever.  Space is limited so get yours reserved today.  Finally, we announced we are having our second annual Halloween Costume party.  Jo Sellers is organizing a variety show the same night.  Can you juggle, lip sync, air guitar, do magic tricks, tell jokes, etc?  If you're interested, let Jo know. 

Thank you to everyone who was able to donate to our troops.  The men and women serving our country loved your thoughtful donations and send their sincerest thanks.
