December 16th Dance Recap

Thank you to all of you who came out to dance at Holiday Hop Shag Dance!  

A special thanks to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to those who joined the club for 2010.  We had so much fun with about 65 shaggers in attendance and luckily the rain held off and the night was beautiful.  

Donna Rosen and Jim Sterner kicked off the night at 6:30pm with a class of shaggers working on their basic step and later the students shagged the night away.  Donations for homeless veterans, local food banks and shelters piled up from our generous shaggers.  Thank you so much!!!

The tables were full of holiday treats and we devoured them through the night as we shagged. 

DJ Jimmy Buffkin played for us.  A staff member of Fat Harold's - Jimmy knows his way around a shag song and as a shagger himself, he kept us out on the floor all night!

Drawings were held for the name badge drawing and there were several 50-50 prizes awarded.  During announcements club members were asked to sign up for one dance in 2010 to help set up or clean up at a dance.  Each task will take 20-30 minutes, before or after the dance. 

President Mike Rogers and the board members presented some charitable contributions during the dance to Jim Russell of the Shallotte Senior Center and to Ralph Finnegan for Moosehart and for the local Moose Lodge. 

We're looking forward to kicking off a new year for our shag club.  We're going, we're growing, and we're so excited for the future!  Thank you for being a part of it.
