December 20th Dance Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out to December Winter Blast dance!  

A special thanks to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to those who joined or renewed their 2009 membership to the Coastal Shag Club.  We're so glad you all came and we love to see our 'family' continue grow!

Luckily, we had terrific weather on Saturday with warm ocean breezes bringing in the holidays.  We had a terrific mountain of donations for the Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA) organization and we give great thanks to those shaggers who contributed.  BFA was so happy for the support.  There were also two tables full of holiday goodies for the dancers and we all enjoyed them.

As they do each month, Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen also gave a FREE 'Basic' lesson to all those interested from 6:30 to 7:00pm.  This is much appreciated by the club!  We are excited to see our club growing and word being spread about the incredible dance of Shag.

Dancing began at 7:00pm and DJ Jerry Burrage rocked the house all night!  If you didn't know, he was just inducted into the Shaggers Hall of Fame in 2008.  The man knows his beach music! During the dance we  discounted SOS cards were sold.  Did you get yours?  We had one lucky 50-50 winner.

Hope to see you all at our 2009 Shagging In The New Year dance.  Our DJ will be 94.9 "Little Man of Beach Music"... Joey Warren!  You may have heard his gospel shows on Sunday mornings.  Don't miss it - mark your calendars for January 17th and join us for the party.  Hope to see you ALL on the dance floor!
