May 16th Dance Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out to the May We Shag dance!  

A special thank you and welcome to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and also to friends of the club who continue to support our dances - we appreciate you all joining us!

There was a fantastic turnout of about 70 people with tables full of hearty snacks.  It turned out to be the unofficial meatball night and we all just chowed down!  Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen gave a FREE 'Basic' lesson from 6:30 to 7:00pm to a class of about 10 dancers and we appreciate them donating their time and talent to the club!  Thanks also to John and Pam Evans who greeted people at the door.

Dancing began at 7:00m and DJ Claude 'CC' Collins played for us the first time and kept the dance floor full!  As well as shag and line dances, we all enjoyed a dance mixer that had the entire room out on the floor.  We had two lucky 50-50 winners and one name tag winner - our newest contest.  For every CSC member who wears their name tag - you get entered in for a special dance prize.  Don't have a name tag?  Let Teresa Boyd know. 

President Mike Rogers updated us with club and event information.  Congratulations to Gary Sellers and the parade committee for winning 2nd place at the SOS Spring Safari parade.  Congratulations to Kim Smith for being elected onto the CSC board.  Announcements included the news that the Wiggle Giggle has been cancelled - but will be rescheduled later.  Also several club members are having us over for beach music parties.  See Road Trips for more information.

SOS Fun Monday tickets are for sale.  Our club has been asked to sell 100, so if every member could sell (or buy?) one or two tickets, we'll easily match that goal.  What's it for, you ask?  The ticket sales help support annual SOS events and charity efforts.  Also, the winning ticket is for $7,500 and if you win, the club that sells the ticket and the person that sells the ticket also wins some money.  Win-win-win situation.  Go for it!  Support shagging and possibly win money.

Our June DJ will be Terry McPhail!  Mark you calendars for our Summer Lovin' Shag Dance.  It's sure to be a hot night!!
