November 15th Dance Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out to dance at our Thanksgiving Feast / Anniversary / Re-Up Blowout Bash!
A special thanks to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to those who joined or renewed their 2009 membership to the Coastal Shag Club. Take advantage of our end of the year discount on your membership. We're so glad you all came and we love to see our 'family' grow!
Now, when I tell you we had a great party... you better believe it. First of all there was the food - a delicious Thanksgiving feast! We started dinner at 6:30pm. The club provided turkey and ham and the members filled three tables that were overflowing with everything from appetizers to desserts. We filled our tummies and then filled the dance floor working off the calories.
As they do each month, Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen also gave a FREE 'Basic' lesson to all those interested from 6:30 to 7:00pm. This is much appreciated by the club! Celebrating our first anniversary - we are excited to see our club growing and word being spread about the incredible dance called shagging.
Dancing began at 7:00pm and we were proud to have our dance was attended by some of our shag community STARS!
Our DJ was the 2008 Carolina Beach Music Award winning Ray Scott. He started the night out with some great tunes and didn't stop until we did. He was awesome!
Also, we had not one, not two, but three professional dance instructors attend: Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen, Johnnie and Henry Webster, and Randy and Sue Bowling - so you KNOW there were some smooth moves out on the dance floor. What a show!
Finally, we were excited to see Judy Collins (of Judy's House of Oldies) come up north to shag with us! We hope you come shag with us again Judy - and we'll see you in your shop!
During the dance we held 2009 Officer Nominations and with no new names thrown into the hat - the nomination committee's suggestions were voted in with no opposition. Also discounted SOS cards were sold. Did you get yours? We had several lucky 50-50 winners.
Don't worry - if you were not able to attend... we're going to do it all again at our Winter Blast - held on December 20th, with DJ Jerry Burrage. Mark your calendars and plan to come out and shag away the holiday stresses. Hope to see you ALL on the dance floor!
