October 18th Dance Recap

Thanks to all you ghosts and goblins who came out to do some devilish dancing!   

A special thanks to those new shaggers who attended our dance for the first time.  We're so glad you came and hope to see you on the dance floor again!

We began the evening at 6:30pm with over 15 shaggers taking our FREE Basic dance lessons with Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen.  At 7:00pm they were ready to go and guests were arriving.  We dimmed the lights as DJ Bill Ruth, who brought his lovely wife, Carol, played one after another fantastic beach music songs.  As members and guests arrived, about 50% of them came in costume.  We had two tables full of spooky, yet tasty, snacks to enjoy, along with the full menu and drinks from the Moose cash bar.  By the door we had a display of five carved jack-o-lanterns on display.

About 8:30pm, we had a club meeting update from our club President, Dean Saffos.  After announcements, we had a costume parade to the Monster Mash for our contest judges: Dean Saffos, Thelma Herring, and Carol Ruth.  Throughout the night, ballets were cast by everyone for their favorite carved pumpkin and spooky snack.  Dean announced the winners, along with the 50-50 winners.  Click here to see results.  The remainder of the evening was filled with shag and line dancing until 11:00pm.

Get excited for our November 15th Thanksgiving Feast/Anniversary/Re-Up Dance with 94.9 The Surf DJ, Ray Scott.  It's going to be AWESOME!  Remember, when in doubt - pivot!  Keep shaggin'!
