September 19th Dance Recap
Thanks to all of you who came out to the September Fall Migration Finale shag dance!
A special thanks to those shaggers who attended our dance for the first time and to those who joined the Coastal Shag Club. We proudly announced we have achieved our goal of 100 members. Way to go CSC - let's keep going and growing!
We survived SOS Fall Migration and had over 70 shaggers partying together. A huge group from Northern Virginia chose to spend the last Saturday of SOS with us and we were so honored to have them.
Jim and Donna had a full class of about a dozen dancers taking their shag class at 6:30pm and they all stayed to dance the night away. Open dancing began at 7:00pm and DJ Rock rocked the house and kept us out on the dance floor and we had so much fun! He even sang us a song. The ladies shook their tail feathers and Kelly from the Northern Virginia Club took the DJ's choice and our own Joan Wurtz won the grand prize - way to go ladies. During the dance we were told the 2010 SOS cards are still available through the club - just let Gary Sellers know if you want to buy a new shiny red card. We had one lucky 50-50 winner, one Chili's gift certificate winner, and one name badge winner.
We have a lot of fun exciting things going on next month - so get involved and mark your calendars. October 3rd is the date of our first annual golf tournament. See John Evans if you would like to play, or if you can help with the organization, or would like to sponsor a hole. October 10th is the date of our second annual yard sale in Shallotte. Marc Meyers is organizing the event and it's better than ever - a win/win for the club and the vendors this year. Space is limited so get yours reserved today. Claire Cozzi was named the volunteer coordinator for our club. Let her know if you are interested and she'll let you know about opportunities where you may be available to help. Finally, we announced we are having our second annual Halloween Costume party at our bonus dance at the Isles Restaurant on Ocean Isle Beach. Time to get creative - prizes for the best costumes.
Our October Moose Lodge DJ will be Roy "Shag Daddy" Childress and our DJ at the Isles will be our OWN Jim Bruno. Don't miss our October Boo Bash or Spooktacular Costume Party! Hope to see you ALL on the dance floor!
